چکیده
To make a reliable diagnosis on haematological examination, it is necessary to examine further the morphology of blood cells previously stained in procedure for staining thin smears using buffer solution with standard pH 6.4 6.8. One problems that may occur laboratory reagents are damaged, past expiration date or running out, so alternative buffers needed cheap, fast and easy obtain. This study aims evaluate results from buffers. Study used quasi-experimental method, bottled mineral water following SNI-01-0553 2006. The colour produced by some these almost equivalent phosphate buffer. percentage assessment codes B, C, D, E F compared control (A) were 62.67%, 92.00%, 82.67%, 80.00% 88, 00%, 68.00%. use Giemsa, Wright stain, Romanowsky method can be done as an sample F, while B G cannot used. applied personnel urgent situations limited equipment material facilities.

Introducing a combined Leishman-Giemsa stain as a new staining technique for avian blood smears
Background: The use of conventional stains including Giemsa, Wright and Leishman have become an essential tool for differential diagnosis of cells in peripheral blood. Aims: The aim of the study was to develop a new combination of Leishman-Giemsa (L&G;) stain for avian blood smears and to compare its efficacy with conventional staining methods. Methods:<...
متن کاملStaining properties and stability of a standardised Romanowsky stain.
An evaluation of the standardised Romanowsky stain of Marshall et al. has been made in a routine haematology laboratory. It was noted that this stain had several advantages over the May-Grünwald Giemsa stain used in most British laboratories. These advantages include ease and speed of preparation, a shorter staining time, and reproducibility of results. These results are described in detail. Th...

A Romanowsky type (Diff-3) stain was used for identifying Helicobacter pylori in gastric biopsy specimens from 50 patients with ulcer and non-ulcer dyspepsia. Air dried smears were prepared from fresh biopsy tissue and histological sections were prepared from paraffin wax processed tissue. The Diff-3 technique is accomplished in five steps and takes about 30 seconds. Results using the Diff-3 st...
متن کاملPlasmodium DNA contamination between blood smears during Giemsa staining and microscopic examination.
Giemsa-stained blood smears are mainly used for microscopic examination to diagnose malaria. However, they may also be subjected to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to confirm diagnosis or for retrospective studies requiring the analysis of old smears. We investigated the possibility of DNA contamination occurring during automated Giemsa staining or due to the failure to clean the oil-immersion ...
